My name is Paulette Hernandez and I am an intern for Marginal Boundaries. I will be utilizing this space for my daily posts in regards to international travel, what it is like to live as an expat, and other related information and updates.
I have traveled to Bogota, Medellin, and Cisneros, Colombia a number of times to visit my family and have recently started teaching myself some authentic Colombian recipes in order to become familiarize more with my background (and the food is great!) I have also had the opportunity to travel to Dubai, UAE and Montreal, Canada. I have always enjoyed traveling and hope to continue to do so. What I truly enjoy about traveling is all of the delicious, cheap, and readily available food! I think recipes passed down generations are the gateway into an unknown culture and that a person can learn a lot about a country’s past and present through their local cuisine. The way to my heart is my stomach, and thus I also learn the heart and soul of a culture!
I have received both my bachelor and my master degrees from Colorado State University, in English and Management, respectively. I have a strong interest in the field of Marketing, and hope to use this blog to effectively provide necessary tools and skills for those wishing to market themselves internationally, as well as those seeking specifics on international travel and immersion.
